Jim Porter asked me to send this out: The fire you see in the southern sky is on the EAST side of 97 (the other side of the highway), and the prevailing winds are blowing north to south so for now Starwood appears to be safe. The fire seems to have started at the mobile home park and has reached the auto salvage yard, thus the dark black smoke. Fire crews are on site, the fire is being attacked by both ground and air crews. Please check on your neighbors, especially the elderly, and make sure we're all in communication in case the situation changes.
