The caring generosity of the Starwood community was tremendously appreciated by both Starwood resident Irene Smith and Brightside Animal Center. As a result of the generous outpouring of donations, Irene was able to personally assist four evacuees over the weekend and then donate a full load of supplies to Brightside Animal Center on Tuesday morning.
According to Brightside's Facebook page thanks to the generosity of Central Oregon pet lovers, Brightside is now completely maxed out on the amount of physical donations for fire victims that they can handle.
They are, however, continuing to collect monetary donations for the evacuees and their pets. Any money collected will go into a fund dedicated to helping the fire victims, separate from the normal donations Brightside receives.
